Workplace Wellbeing for Young People and Adults

This uses a range of simple, adaptable and effective relaxation techniques to improve mental, emotional and physical wellbeing in the workplace and the home. The programme's chosen techniques are promoted by health services and use a mindfulness based approach. The programme is taught by an instructor who works with groups or individuals.  


Adults train as IMPACT Wellbeing Instructors and use the programme with the people in their care or with whom they work.  Independent instructors also deliver the programme.

IMPACT is used education; high schools, secondary schools and colleges.  It can be used in children’s homes and with young people in a variety of youth groups and organisations such as Young Carers, Guides and Scouts.  


 

Wellbeing in the Workplace 
IMPACT is for used for staff wellbeing with adults in a variety of organisations in the private and public sector.  Many people are working at home and will benefit from using the wellbeing toolkit to maintain their health. 



Wellbeing in the Care Sector 
IMPACT is used in a range of social care and support organisations such as residential homes, day centres, hospitals and hospices.  It is for use by staff, carers, residents, patients and clients.  

This course is suitable for use by GPs in social prescribing as its simple and effective techniques will benefit a range of people. 


IMPACT Wellbeing toolkit of relaxation techniques include:
  • Breathing and stretching exercises
  • Relaxation and guided visualisation
  • Self massage for head and hands
  • Peer massage for head and hands
  • A mindfulness-based approach
Individuals also gain an understanding of the causes and effects of stress. 

The simple, adaptable and effective techniques require no equipment other than a chair - although music helps and is provided!  Techniques are used according to personal choice and the time and space available.
