Course content
The course includes theory and practical work.  The practical work is individual, paired and group work.  The ethos of respect and choice ensures that participants can choose to observe if they do not wish to take part in an activity.
Learners:

  • Gain practical experience of relaxation techniques and how they work; breathing and stretching exercises, relaxation and guided visualisation, self-massage and peer massage for head and shoulders and arms and hands.
  • Find out about the causes and effects of stress and the benefits of a mindfulness-based approach.
  • Consider how to use IMPACT in different settings and how to plan, monitor and evaluate the programme.

Touchline Training provides:

  • Accredited professional one day Instructor’s training by experienced trainers
  • Instructor's Agreement with Instructor's Certificate and registration
  • Access to password protected resources via the website
  • An on-line instructor’s manual to support the training
  • Audio and image downloads for relaxation and visualisation
  • Prompts and reminders for self massage and peer massage
  • Support and updated materials including video reminders

"Thank you again for the inspiring course.  I have already introduced the breathing to a few students with success. The fact that this can be used in any situation was important with one boy who was in great distress and the technique was used in the corridor."
Year 10 Learning Manager, Derbyshire
